What's in a piece of audio furniture? Not much you might be inclined to say. Well, along with audio cables and other audio accessories, there's more than meets the eye.
Today's Quadraspire stands are the result of over 10 years of ongoing development. Said to be designed in Britain at the school of wobbly stands, these are not, in fact, at all wobbly. They are carefully designed to support realistic equipment weights but at the same time provide the correct acoustic loading that modern equipment requires. Note the lack of any straight edges on the shelfing. The Quadraspire stands look modern and elegant and are configurable. They also come in a wide range of finishes to complement any décor. www.quadraspire.co.uk

Apart from looking rather modern and elegant these stands also enhance your sound system. Yes, we didn't believe it either.

Plinius CD Player mounted on an acrylic upgrade shelf for source equipment on a standard stand. Amazing results for a "simple" shelf. Why would a shelf make any difference to a CD player you may ask?

Nottingham Analogue turntable mounted on a glass shelf. Also tested on wood veneer and the acrylic shelving. As expected, turntables like the right support.

Results? You know the answer already! However, the surprise was the extent to which the acrylic reference stand made to the CD player. There must be something to this low mass, low resonant shelving after all.
